Mike Shine – New Mural in San Francisco

By - Thursday, August 8th, 2013

Mike Shine is an artist originally from Rochester, New York now residing in Bolinas, California. He is known for creating fully immersive art installations like his show at 941 Geary Gallery and most recent at White Walls SF . His work encompasses paintings on found objects, street art, music, films, operas, and the occasional carnival. Influenced by a past encounter in his childhood with a Russian carnival clown by the name of “Dr. Flotsam” he hasn’t been the same since, and the characters he paints resemble that eerie yet gentle looking carny. Delve deep into Mike Shine’s world here: Shine Lounge. Mike Shine was the cover artist for the March 2013 issue of Juxtapoz. The Mural was sponsored by Juxtapoz and Converse. Its Located on Olive alley and Polk street in San Francisco. Text: El Topo Photos: El Topo, Neilsee
