MOCA TV: The Underbelly Project

Beginning in 2009 and lasting for 18 months, artists from around the world were escorted beneath the streets of New York City into one of the many long- abandoned subway stations. The project, called The Underbelly Project, and featuring 103 street artists such as Ron English, Swoon, Revok, Faile, and Lister, was completed entirely outside of the law. The public can’t see the art and collectors can’t buy it. The only exposure came from a two-and-a-half hour tour given to a reporter and a videographer. Take a peak into the re-purposed underbelly of New York City courtesy of MOCAtv’s Art in the Streets.
