Mondrian SoHo Installs Sol Lewitt Photo Grid on Facade

By - Wednesday, November 16th, 2011

An interesting installation went up today on the facade of the Mondrian SoHo. On the Lafayette Street side of the hotel the was tiled with vintage photos of signage and scrawls from the 1970’s. One of the photos even looks like an early Phase2 tag! This grid of photos is actually an installation by the late great Minimalist artist Sol Lewitt. See it for yourself on Lafayette between Canal and Grand Streets. The Mondrian SoHo is located at 9 Crosby Street between Canal and Grand Street. Photo: Ashton
