Moniker Monday: The Kodak Kid

By - Monday, August 17th, 2015

One of the best parts about hitting the yard is the chance to peep what monikers might be up on the freights, as well as the chance to catch a few of your own. Pieces in their own right many times, monikers are sort of a niche area of the graffiti scene. Many of the most well known wouldn’t even consider themselves writers, but rather followers of a tradition that extends decades past when graffiti first began popping up.

This ‘Kodak Kid’ piece is everything a classic moniker should be: An instantly recognizable symbol, a quote, the date, and just the right amount of embellishment. The pic comes courtesy of 12oz Forum member FreshySnapper, who posted it in his own thread FRESHY SNAPPER:Some Highlights From the Lines. There’s tons of other great flicks in there as well, so make sure you check it out.
