MTA Subway Benches For Sale $650

By - Monday, February 20th, 2012

{image-1} Last week the Daily News reported that the MTA is selling the wooden benches that are commonplace in subway stations across the city for $650 each online. This wooden municipal furniture has become part of the New York City vernacular and it’s hard to imagine the transit system without them as they are all eventually being replaced with new metal benches. Though they may be associated with bums sleeping on them and bedbug infestations, when these wooden benches are all gone we’ll definitely look back with fond memories as we do the retired red bird trains. We could picture these authentic MTA benches fitting in perfectly at Tuff City, or even the 12ozProphet studio for that matter. Source: Daily News Photo: Thomas De Los Santos
