Murals in the Market Detroit – 9 Days of Bliss

By - Wednesday, September 30th, 2015

For nine days straight in Detroit’s Eastern Market artists were painting non-stop to complete work for the Murals in the Market festival. There is something for everyone, from the bright colors to cartoon characters and portraits. The last couple days you could see a sigh of relief in most of the artists’ eyes knowing that they finished a day or so early. This allowed them some time to take in the city, while others such as Askew, Ouizi and Kashink started a second wall.

There was a farewell dinner over the weekend to show appreciation to everyone that was part of the event. Once dinner was done, it was time to party with a DJ and bonfire, this was a great way for everyone to hang out one last time before they all parted ways.

If you’re in or around the Eastern Market area be sure to drive/walk around to take in all these walls in person! See you all next year!
