Music Video: "Fashion Killa" by A$AP Rocky

By - Saturday, September 28th, 2013

Earlier this week New York City-based rapper A$AP Rocky released the music video to his popular song, “Fashion Killa”. The video follows him and his girl around as they shop at high end fashion boutiques. But that’s not what caught my eye. While watching this video I noticed that, about a minute into the clip, you see someone walking past wearing a mask and holding an extinguisher. He makes a couple appearances throughout the video. My first thought was could it be Kidult? Because of Kidult’s clear anti-high fashion stance, I was skeptical. However, at the end of the video, there is a shot of what appears to be a Kidult-like figure catching a large “Art” extinguisher tag. The question remains, was this the “real” Kidult? Or simply A$AP wanting to add an edginess to his video while capitalizing on establishing an association to a hot street art commodity? Either way, both the video and the song are well executed. Take a look at the video and tell us what you think! Is it the infamous Kidult himself? Or isn’t it?
