Yesterday, July 19th, the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum officially opened their doors to the new exhibit for NASA‘s space shuttle Enterprise. As visitors enter they first pass through an airlock built into the retired U.S.S. Intrepid World War II aircraft carrier which was created to keep the pressurized exhibition inflated to provoke the feeling of being in outer space. The arrangement of aircrafts allows guests to get an up close view around the original prototype shuttle that was was used to determine the cause of the Columbia disaster. Peep the photos below and if you’re in the area be sure to stop by and check out this new stunning exhibition.
