News: FX The Bridge Mural Contest

By - Wednesday, June 12th, 2013

The New FX Original Series The Bridge is sponsoring a mural contest, calling for submissions that reflect “the collaboration and connection of Latino and US cultures. The Bridge is going to be set between the cities of El Paso and Juarex, on the US/Mexican border. The show focuses on an American and a Mexican detective who must work together across borders. Because of the show’s subject matter, FX is calling for submissions to the mural contest that illustrate cross-cultural communication and a sense of coming together. Once all the design submissions are collected, FX will choose five winning artists to receive a $1500 cash prize and have their design transferred into a mural to be painted on a wall in Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, or New York. To enter into the contest, follow this link or visit the mural contest’s website. To see some of the murals that people have submitted, check out the gallery. Submissions must be accepted by June 17th, and will be reviewed from June 18th-20th. Community outreach and unveiling events are planned for June 19th-July 7th.
