News: Looking Forward With 3D-Printed Guns

By - Monday, May 6th, 2013

A man by the name of Cody Wilson has been sharing files needed to print the lower receiver of an AR15, high capacity magazines, and is currently working on refining his handgun design. Though 3D printers are extremely expensive today, they may be quite popular when cheaper production methods are found to enable mass production. With one of his lower receivers being able to shoot up to 300 rounds before breaking, the ATF still refuses to believe that these plastic parts are comparable to the real deal, therefore printing these parts completely legal. Instead of invoking conspiracy theory thoughts, Vice has created a short documentary detailing Cody Wilson’s work, beliefs, and insights to his American future. Sources: Forbes & Vice
