Automotive air bags, boat sails and space suit materials combined with zipper pulls and paracord, make the Tom Sachs: NIKECraft a collection intermixed with functionality that would prove useful for a hypothetical voyage through space. The Tom Sachs: NIKECraft collection is made up of the Mars Yard Shoe, the Trench, the Marsfly Jacket, and the Lightweight Tote, blending details of scientific notebook entries, the periodic table of elements and conceptual airtight space storage containers.

NIKEcraft’ is a collaboration between american artist Tom Sachs and Nike Sportswear, reflecting the aesthetics and imagination of Sach’s ‘Space Program: Mars’ project that will premiere at New York’s Park Avenue Armory tomorrow night, May 15th.
