NYC: Terry Richardson's "Mom and Dad" at Half Gallery

By - Tuesday, November 8th, 2011

{image-1} “My parents split up when I was four. It feels good for me to have them back together again, even if it’s in a gallery and only for a little while. It’s something I’m doing for me and in a way, for them.” -Terry Richardson, 2011 Terry Richardson’s new show “Mom and Dad” is opening in NYC at Half gallery this Friday, Nov. 11. The show is opening in conjunction with the release of his new monograph of the same name by Morel Books. If you didn’t already guess from the title, Terry’s parents are the subjects of this most recent series. While taking photos of his parents does seem to be a change of pace for Terry, his parents look so much like him at times that the whole project feels like another one of Terry’s signature self-portraits. Despite his ability to make everything about himself, I’m just hoping the show provides another one of Terry’s trademarks, nudes. November 11—December 4, 2011 Half Gallery 208 Forsyth Street, New York
