NYPD Starting Trouble After A Week of Peaceful Protest

Last weekend hundreds of demonstrators took to the streets of Manhattan’s financial district in a peaceful protest aimed at drawing attention to the role powerful financial interests play in government and in wreaking havoc on America’s economy. Occupy Wall Street is a “leaderless resistance movement” orchestrated through Twitter, Facebook and other social media tools. The protest has been going strong for a week now, but recently things took a turn for the worse as NYPD clashed with the protesters This video shows police using mesh nets to herd the peaceful protesters and then spray them with pepper spray on 12th St and University Pl. This video shows a protester being thrown to the ground after trying to talk to one of the officers. You can watch a live video stream of the ongoing protest below.
