Os Gemeos and Aryz in Poland for Urban Forms Foundation

Shortly after Os Gemeos’ trip to Boston for their first US solo museum show at the Institute of Contemporary Art, and the creation of their large scale painting “The Giant of Boston”, the twins from Sao Paulo met up with the young talent Aryz from Barcelona, Spain to collaborate on a huge wall for Urban Forms Gallery in Lodz, Poland.
This new work from two of most recognizable names in street art commenced on August 23rd for the September season of the Urban Forms Foundation’s Urban Forms Gallery. The driving principle of Urban Forms Gallery is to create a permanent outdoor gallery of large scale paintings to add original artistic life to public space in the city center of Lodz. This season Urban Forms Foundation has organized the painting of five large walls in Lodz city center, joining the existing 17 murals the foundation had organized. Accounting for the other four walls are Inti, Otecki, Lump, and Shida. All the paintings can be viewed in a few hours on foot, and the project will later expand to other street art objects like sculpture, installation and more.
This collaborative mural is reminiscent of Os Gemeos’ May of 2010 collaboration with Blu in Lisbon, Portugal. In both murals the featured artists painted massive figures in their own signature styles entangled in each other. Check back for finished photos of what’s sure to be an awesome wall.
