Video: Packard Plant Projects - The Man Who Calls The Detroit Factory Home

Some might say that living in the abandoned plant of a car company that no longer exists is a travesty. For Allan Hill, it’s home. Mr. Hill lives in the Packard plant in Detroit, Michigan; and aside from a few small quality of life issues (like no running water), he has everything he could want. Maintaining the plant in it’s current state is his full time job, acting as custodian and night watchman.
Aside from the social stigma associated with living in a place like an abandoned auto plant, Mr. Hill has no issues at all with his current situation. This video, by Lost & Found Films, is part of a series that highlights places and people across America that would go otherwise unnoticed. Check out their website, and the rest of the films in the This Must Be The Place series.
