Recap: Cycle 7 @ Detroit Red Bull House Of Art

By - Wednesday, April 16th, 2014

The Red Bull House of Art, now entering its third year in their Eastern Market home located in Detroit MI, debuted the first cycle of 2014 artists on April 11. The House has been busy undergoing changes for the first opening of the year. Noticeably, the program is shifting from housing eight artists, down to six local artists at a time. Now, the remaining two desks on the first floor of the two-floor gallery and workspace will feature one desk for Red Bull House of Art alumni. Any of the previous 48 artists will now be offered a space to come and work, free of charge, when they need to continue to innovate on their previous experiences at 1551 W Winder. Curated by Mathew Eaton, The six artists featured in Cycle 7 are: Paula Zammit (Figurative Oil Painting), Nick Jaskey (House & Spray Paint on Wood Panels), Katherine Craig (Mixed Media), Lamar Landers (Wood, Resin & Acrylics), Bethany Shorb (Industrial Polymer Paint on Aluminum & Wood) and Zak Meers (Multidimensional Installation).
