“There’s a lot of fresh paint in Wynwood so if you’re planning on coming to Miami for Art Basel, be sure to head over to NW26th St & 2nd Avenue. For those of you who can’t make it, here’s a preview—too many to post all at once. I’ll be there from November 27 through December 5th. Seeya” –Martha Cooper Many have their sights set on Miami in anticipation of the upcoming Art Basel Miami art fair and all of the fanfare that comes along with it. Founded in 2009 by Tony Goldman and Jeffrey Deitch, the Wynwood Walls is a mural program transforming a neighborhood of warehouses into a public art museum. “I have seen a lot of big graffiti projects but I never would have believed that street art would be the thing to revitalize a neighborhood” Martha Cooper said in Here Comes The Neighborhood, a new video series on the artists contributing to the Wynwood Walls project.
