Photo: MTA 2nd Ave Subway Construction Looks Out of This World

By - Saturday, March 24th, 2012

The latest photographs of the construction taking place deep below the Upper East Side looks like they were taken on a different planet. Nine stories underneath the streets, workers are building the cavern that will house the 72nd Street Station of the Second Avenue Subway. The $4.45 billion first phase of the project, which will extend the Q line from East 63rd up to East 96th street, is expected to be completed by December 2016.
