Photographer Check Out: Stephen Mallon

By - Friday, May 13th, 2011

New Yorkers have a pretty good idea of where each of their different subways can get them. Stephen Mallon’s site popped into our view based on his work with train cars entitled “Next Stop Atlantic.” For this project, he followed expired train cars bound for the coast, the last place your average subway rider would ever expect. Intended to rebuild reefs off the shores of states like Georgia and South Carolina, the trains are seen in a totally new way for a few moments before they make their home at the bottom of the Atlantic. We definitely recommend checking out this series of photos which might give you a new appreciation for the trains you ride around on in Manhattan and the Boroughs or see on t.v. {image-1} {image-2} {image-3} {image-4} {image-5}
