Pictures of MTA South Ferry Station Under Water

This article was posted by Senior Editor 2 years, 1 month, 2 weeks, 3 days, 19 hours, 55 minutes ago.

The MTA has shared these photos of the South Ferry subway station to exemplify the damage in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Although many were skeptical of the decision to shutdown the transit system leading up to the storm, it clearly appears to have been the right decision. With the imagery of trees on the tiled walls, this subway station looks more like a swamp. The MTA will resume limited service tomorrow but with Lower Manhattan not expected to have power back before the weekend, there is no chance of service being fully restored before then. To stay up to date with the latest transit information check the MTA website.
