PPP Take Canal Street by Storm
During a good snowstorm in New York City, when most are staying in, graffiti writers are lacing up their boots and packing their bags for a mission. The brazen take full advantage of the low traffic, visibility, and traction, hitting spots that would otherwise be impossible. After last weekend’s snowstorm we were anxious to asses the damage.
Overnight Canal Street, one of the most high profile stretches in the city, was smashed with large chrome PPP throwies from West Broadway to Lafayette, where the trail ended with back to back fill-ins left half outlined. The handiwork of the Peter Pan Posse, what the graffiti lacked in style it made up for in scale, placement, and repetition. While standing in front of one of the fill-ins you could spot another across the street and a third down the block. One of the largest is right on Broadway stretching across three storefront windowpanes. Scroll down to check out our damage report.
