Preview: Lisa Leone "Then" at HVW8 Gallery in LA

By - Tuesday, May 8th, 2012

On May 11th, the HVW8 Gallery in Los Angeles will present photographer Lisa Leone and her new solo exhibition titled Then, which features Leone’s old school photographs of hip-hop icons from back in the day. The portraits convey a dope and true behind the scenes look into Leone’s lifestyle of being around the raw hip-hop scene and culture at the time. She shot photos of artists who are now noted icons in the history of hip-hop, varying from Snoop Dogg to Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, Run DMC, Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, Rosie Perez, The Roots, Queen Latifah and the list of others continue. The show runs until June 10th, 2012 so if you’re in the Los Angeles area, it would be extremely worth it to take a visit to this upcoming exhibition. Seeing photos of such talented hip-hop artists in their prime is always an awesome opportunity. To check out a few photos we were able to grab of Leone’s work, scroll down. Also, a couple weeks ago we posted a 50 fresh flicks featuring photographer Michael Miller who took some of the most iconic shots of musicians and celebrities, click here to check it out.
