Ryan McGinness has been quite busy these past few months! From his show at Pace (which is one month ago to the day) to his openings tonight, and tomorrow night! That’s right, two new shows opening over two days at two unrelated galleries. The first, is tonight at Gering & Lopez Gallery, with his show, Women: Sketches and Solutions. Doors open at 6 and should run until 8. Then tomorrow night, May 4th at Charles Bank Gallery, Mr. McGinness will be opening his show, Women: Blacklight Paintings & Sculptures. Here is a little taste of what these shows will be about:
“For the first time in a public exhibition, McGinness is revealing his entire working process for creating the personal visual language that is the hallmark of his artistic style. To best showcase that process, McGinness has created an exhibition in two parts: Uptown, Gering & Lopez Gallery will be showing an all black and white exhibit of McGinness’ sketches and drawings. Downtown, on the Lower East Side, Charles Bank Gallery will be showing the fluorescent blacklight paintings and sculptures that are the finished result.”
Both of these exhibitions are sure to be amazing, so take advantage of this dope opportunity!
