Preview: Work in Progress Street Art Exhibition in Hong Kong

By - Thursday, June 6th, 2013

Work in Progress, an upcoming street art exhibition sponsored by Swire Properties, is bringing artists from around the world to create large scale artworks in and on, Somerset House in Hong Kong. With the help of Above Second, Work in Progress will include huge site specific art works and collaborations from Cyrcle, VHILS, Meggs, RONE, Beastman, Victor Ash and Cannonball Press. On top of the amazing line up of international artists, Swire has brought the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation (YAF) on board to add an educational element. Leading up to the exhibition there are artists talks, master classes and student workshops held with Victor Ash, Cyrcle and Cannonball Press. For the exhibition, YAF has also organized murals and student workshops with Hong Kong based artists Mark Goss and Parent’s Parents, as well as film screenings, a street art tour, and numerous other works by Hong Kong artists such as 4Get, Cat Time Biatch, Peter Yuill, XEME, and Pantone C. While much of the work was still in progress during our sneak peak, it is safe to say this will be one of the most interesting exhibitions Hong Kong will see this year. Work in Progress Street Art Exhibition June 17th to July 7th 2013 10am – 7pm (no admission after 6.30pm) 13th Floor, Somerset House Taikoo Place, Island East Hong Kong
