Recently a sculpture that has been completed by Eric Wurms that stands at 18 feet tall has found a new home at the Standard Hotel in NYC. The aluminium sculpture titled “Big Kastenmann,” which translates to “Big Box Man” in English, is of a headless businessman that was constructed out of cast aluminum with the shoulders being covered in pink enamel paint weighing in at a massive 1.6 tons. The sculpture which actually is a giant version of Wurms’ earlier pieces from 2010 completely takes on a whole new meaning with a different interaction while being in such a busy location. The sculpture is on location at 848 Washington Street and West 13th Street until November 2 so if you’re in the area be sure to check it out.
