RAE in Africa

By - Wednesday, April 30th, 2014

RAE landed in Ethiopia, Africa a little over a week ago and has already been busy at work. He’s been making his usual paintings and sculptures and has tried to involve the community of Hosanna as much as possible. RAE’s main task while abroad is to raise funds for a newly built library so that they can secure additional furniture, computers and other needed supplies. The Alemu Woldehanna Community Library was recently built with the assistance of H2 Empower Inc., a non-profit organization. He’s been meeting with the local residents and has involved the children in his sculpture making activities, some of which can be seen on his Instagram account. On May 8th there will be a small exhibition at a house within the community of the pieces that he completes while overseas. A portion of the proceeds will go directly towards the library.
