Recap: Nuart Festival 2013 in Stavanger, Norway

By - Monday, September 16th, 2013

NuArt is an annual international street art festival established in 2001 with a focus exclusively on street art since 2005. The Festival is based in Stavanger on the West Coast of Norway. In addition to a multitude of both sanctioned and unsanctioned public art works NuArt also stages one of the most anticipated exhibitions of the year. This year’s festival featured a diverse selection of 16 artists representing 11 countries from around the world. The work spans traditional mediums such as wheat pasting and stencils with works from artists such as Christian Guémy (C215) from Paris, France, as well as including more avant garde forms of expression like the multimedia, multi-dimensional works of Ernest Zacharevic. Additionally, 12oz Prophet’s own Martha Cooper was invited to actively document the creative process and hosted a panel discussion with celebrated street art photographer Ian Cox (UK).
