By - Friday, October 19th, 2012

On October 13, Graff Lab hosted Piece Fest, the Los Angeles music and street art festival. The event brought together up and coming bands and promising street artists. Partnering with Java Monster, the festival set the stage for the pilot episode of ‘The Chosen One’ a competitive reality show about street art featuring celebrity judges, hosts and performers. Executive produced by David Arquette the competition pitted OG Abel and Australia’s The Massive against each other to see who could best fuse the Java Monster logo with their signature style. The competition was judged by Kelly ‘Risk’ Graval, Peter Mays (Executive Director of the Los Angeles Art Association), Seth ‘Shify’ Binzer, David Faustino and Luke ‘The Dingo’ Tremabth. Renowned artist Seen made a special appearance and interviewed competitors during the battle. The event ended in a victory for OG Abel. In addition to the competition there were live performances, merchandising booths, food trucks, a public art wall and an art gallery. Text: Keisha Raines Photos: Birdman
