Recap: Zulu Nation 38th Anniversary, Part 1

By - Monday, November 14th, 2011

The Universal Zulu Nation has been an instrumental part of shaping hip hop culture since it’s birth, and it’s no surprise that they took the time out to celebrate their long history together. Kicking off their 38th Anniversary this past Wednesday at Le Poisson Rouge, Zulu members came in waves from all over the world (chapter members even hailing from Germany) to show their support. The Wednesday show featured a host of DJs, rappers, and breakers, including Tony Touch, Mell Starr, Marley Marl, Rock (of Heltah Skeltah), Cuban Link, and Crazy Legs of the infamous Rock Steady Crew. Be sure to lookout for part 2 of 12ozProphet’s recap of the Zulu Nation’s 38th Anniversary. Text and Photo: Steven Lau
