Red Bull House of Art: Detroit Cycle 10
Friday night openings at the Red Bull House of Art in Detroit have grown in popularity with increasing attendance since they first began in 2012. The Red Bull House of Art selects between 7 and 8 up-and-coming artists to be part of their 8-week long study within their space. They provide artists 24-hour access to studio space, the supplies needed and at the end of the program, the gallery space to showcase the work they’ve created. There are artists who work with plenty of different mediums. We’ve attended these shows since their beginnings, and it is amazing to see the growth and support that the community has given back to the House of Art. This particular show was the 10th cycle, featuring artists Elmer, James “Jimbo” Braddock, Brent Forest, Niki Urban, Sheefy, K. Guillory and Parisa Ghaderi.
There are DJs spinning up and downstairs accompanying the Red Bull Bars scattered throughout the space, adding to the unique ambiance of an old brewery turned gallery. We are looking forward to seeing who will be a part of the next cycle of the Red Bull House of Art.
