(RED) x Adobe: Student Design Competition
On August 21st, (RED) and Adobe® announced a worldwide digital design competition that offers graphic design students an amazing opportunity to become creatively involved in the fight to end AIDS. Prospective candidates should submit current work from their portfolios for the opportunity to work with infamous graffiti writer Futura to design the digital album artwork for the 2013 (RED) compilation DANCE (RED) SAVE LIVES 2, to be released in the weeks leading up to World AIDS Day on December 1st, 2013. The artwork will be designed using Adobe Creative Cloud™, granting access to the most cutting edge Adobe creative software.
In order to enter the competition, graphic design students should visit the competition website and complete all steps to apply by September 13th, 2013. The winner of the competition will be announced on or near September 23rd.
“Last year’s ‘DANCE (RED) SAVE LIVES’ album went to #1 in 33 countries on the iTunes dance charts and saw the world’s dance fans rally to join the fight. For 2013, we want to blow this out even further by making the ‘DANCE (RED) SAVE LIVES 2 ’ experience both musically and visually inspiring, and Adobe Creative Cloud tools are perfect to help us achieve this,” says (RED) CEO Deborah Dugan.
Futura, the legendary NYC subway-era graffiti artist formerly known as Futura 2000, adds: “Every artist aspires to communicate a powerful message through their work. With this competition, Adobe Creative Cloud and (RED) are providing students with a dream opportunity to do just that, while entering the public arena on a global scale. I am very excited to be a part of the process and mentor the winning student.”
This competition truly will become a dream opportunity for the winning student, whose album artwork will be featured globally on the exciting DANCE (RED) SAVE LIVES 2 album. The album will feature new and exclusive tracks remixed by some of the world’s most renown DJs and EDM forerunners, yet unannounced.
