Preview: Dylan Maddux "Cambodia" and Reyes "The Jungle" at Known Gallery

By - Thursday, March 22nd, 2012

The opening for the highly anticipated Reyes exhibition “The Jungle” at Known Gallery in Los Angeles will take place this Saturday from 8-11pm. This will be the second solo exhibition of works at Known Gallery by the distinguished San Francisco street artist. Reyes will be exhibiting a new body of works on wood panel that are reminiscent of jungle motifs, themes that have sporadically appeared in his past mural installations. This subject matter has been reignited in vibrant color schemes, while stylistically holding true to the techniques Reyes is recognized for.

“The Jungle” which is also apparently a commentary on humanity is meant to tie in with the featured works of photographer Dylan Maddux that will be displayed in the secondary room at the gallery. Maddux’s installation will feature photographs taken over his last year spent in Southeast Asia, literally the jungle. Dylan Maddux has also previously shown at Known Gallery and has shot for several publications including Juxtapoz, Thrasher, and Swindle. If you can’t make it to the opening on Saturday check back with 12ozProphet for a complete recap of both shows.
