RIME Sues Jeremy Scott and Moschino Over Copyright Infringement

By - Friday, August 7th, 2015

A few months ago, we brought you the story about Katy Perry and Jeremy Scott’s Moschino attire, worn to the MET Gala in NYC. These new Moschino outfits suspiciously resembled a piece by Seventh Letter artist RIME. On Thursday, August 6th, a lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles by RIME against Moschino and Jeremy Scott for copyright infringement. The design used on Katy’s dress and Jeremy’s coat was appropriated by Scott for Moschino without permission.

The design in question was originally created by Rime for The Seventh Letter, was painted on a wall in Detroit and titled “Vandal Eyes.” 12oz continues to follow this as the story unfolds. Ultimately: don’t take things that don’t belong to you, or be prepared to pay the consequences. No one likes a style biter.
