Rolling Out with Smells

By - Monday, January 16th, 2012

No doubt Smells has been getting up in Brooklyn. He’s incessantly tagged, scratched, pieced, rolled and blasted his name around town. Smells has utilized every graff tool imaginable from markers, paint pens, oil sticks, white-out pens, and scribes to spray paint, rollers, and fire extinguishers. He switches it up between raw roller dominance and frenetic spray paint piecing, and even a fire extinguisher tag once in awhile. He’s found new fame spots, maintains old ones, and surprises you in the cutty, obscure trenches. For all his work and time, he might as well have been filling those tools with his blood, sweat and tears. He’s even bolted boards, glued wooden cut outs, and stuck countless stickers. In the past few years he’s been seen running with Cash4 a lot, who’s also becoming recognized for the work he’s been putting in. They make a great tag-team duo of new millenium bombers, highly influenced by the style of Cost and Revs, a hybrid of past and present methods and tools. Text: Daniel Feral Photo: Lois Stavsky
