Sheryo and The Yok bring “Arnie-truckanator” to life in LA

Checking in with artists Sheryo and The Yok, we find that the pair has been busy making global rounds – including participating in the PUBLIC Festival in Perth, Australia, contributing to a Singapore-inspired project in Lille, France and getting creative and repurposing materials in the streets of Los Angeles.

Regarding the “Arnie-truckanator” piece in LA, part of an exhibition titled, “A Night on Broadway,” Sheryo commented, “Been watching a lot of Arnie reruns on the tele lately with Yok, and decided to make an ’80s muscleman Arnie guy out of a truck.” Sometimes it’s as simple as that – and the result is quite stunning.

Currently, the duo have been working on wooden sculptures in Singapore, which will be heading to New York for an upcoming show, with more details to follow.

Stay up to date on the collaborations between Sheryo and The Yok by checking out their blog, as well as their recent works, available online.
