First Look: Shoe Calligraffiti in Beijing China

By - Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

Bates posted the video above onto his 12ozProphet blog of the dutch graffiti writer Shoe using a broom as a brush to paint his name in massive calligraphic letters on a rooftop in Beijing, China. Niels “Shoe” Meulman is one of the graffiti writers most highly recognized for incorporating a strong influence of traditional calligraphy. We found a few more images of his recent activity around Beijing on the artist’s website. These pieces are part of ‘Off Canvas: A street-level Typography Exhibition’ organized by Converse during the Beijing Design Week. Scroll down to check out a couple images of his beautiful work.
