Squatters and the LES

By - Wednesday, June 1st, 2011

These photos offer a peek into the East Village anarchist scene, during the 80s and early 90s. Raw hostile graffiti littered vacant buildings owned by banks and the government. Thousands of people apparently homeless on the streets with a D.I.Y. attitude. Photos by Clayton Patterson, who also has a documentary out, “Captured”, worth a gander.
