Stephen Powers’ highly anticipated show A Word is Worth a Thousand Pictures opens at Joshua Liner Gallery September 6th. Known for his cheeky wit and melding of text and image, this will be Powers’ first solo exhibition in New York in over seven years. In this new series of work, the artist formerly known as ESPO will present a panoramic assemblage of paintings that will occupy the entire breadth of the gallery. A Word is Worth a Thousand Pictures will consist of a multitude of enamel on aluminum paintings, ranging from 10 x 8 inches to 10 x 10 feet.
12ozProphet got an exclusive look inside the artist’s studio. Scroll down to check out shots of Powers in his element, One Shot in hand and a sign painters’ precision.
