The City of Copenhagen is seeking artists to submit their vision to transform a 271 meter long aluminum wall (that’s about 890 feet) into a work of art. The wall is located in Ørestad City in Copenhagen. The contest is part of an effort to develop the area, with four new neighborhoods underway. The artwork should match and compliment Ørestad City, a vibrant neighborhood with flats, offices, shops, and cafes.
Submissions must be in by December 16, 2012. In addition to this great opportunity to create the longest piece of street art in Danish history, the winner will receive full accommodation in Ørestad City, all materials provided for free, and 3200 DKK (about $5K USD) to bring assistants, or they can choose to have assistants provided by ArtRebels Oh, and they also get 100,000 DKK (about $17,500 USD) in prize money. Seven members of the jury will select the winner in January 2013.
