Style Wars Benefit

By - Tuesday, May 24th, 2011

{image-1} Over at Viceland, we saw a story about Style Wars and an important benefit being held May 25th, which would raise money to restore the original negatives for the film. The idea is to preserve the much loved and much watched documentary which was released in 1983. There’s a quick Q and A with Henry Chalfant, the film’s co-producer and Catherine Keener, one of the benefit’s hosts. It’s a $250 donation to enter and up for auction include work by Marcel Dumas, a drawing by Spike Jonze, and even a Bass donated and tagged by Flea. And for music the night will feature Adam Horovitz, DJ Kay Slay and Questlove as DJ’s. So it should be worth the money if you happen to be going. Benefit Info here.
