Ride The Lines: Chicago Blueline graffiti

By - Wednesday, March 18th, 2015

You see a little bit of everything when you ride the “L,” as Chicago inhabitants refer to the public train system in Chicago. Tunnel spots, rooftop spots, freights, legal walls. Much like New York city’s MTA, if you ride Chicago’s CTA trains, you’ll see it all. This set of photos is just a small taste of what you can see off the lines. Today’s trip was a ride on the Blueline, north towards O’Hare. H20, BBK, FIK, MUL, QFK, and XMEN are some of the crews you’ll probably see riding the lines. Every line has a variety of styles that show up, Orangeline, Greenline, Redline, Blueline, Pinkline, etc. It’s pretty interesting to see how styles change depending on the direction you’re going in. Who really is all-city? It’s all about legibility, style and color scheme with spots rocking off lines in Chicago. You have to make your work pop because those trains move pretty fast.
