The Internet Defense League is Here to Protect the Internet

By - Friday, July 20th, 2012

{image-1} Yesterday marked the official launch of the Internet Defense League, the organization behind the internet blackout this past January. The goal of the organization is to, “mobilize the planet to defend the internet from bad laws & monopolies.” The league’s first action, the internet blackout, was successful in stopping the internet censorship bills PIPA and SOPA that threatened many of the freedoms we enjoy on the internet. 12ozProphet as an open forum, would have been devastated by the passage of these or any other similar bills in the future, so the presence of an Internet Defense League is positive in ensuring 12oz can maintain its free flow of content and remain the kind of site it is now. When there is an internet emergency participating websites will flash the “cat signal” like the one seen below. To help their movement visit the Internet Defense League website to pledge your support. {image-3} Text: Grassy Knowles
