The Low Brow Artique Presents Noxer “The Book of the Dead”. With well over 20 years of graffiti writing behind him, Noxer is ubiquitous throughout New York City. Over the years his work has only gotten more personified and his style more recognizable, Noxer’s latest street work contains subtle references that are remnant to ancient Egyptian art. The Book of the Dead is a more thorough exploration of this theme including several new pieces by Noxer that combine the aesthetics of ancient Egypt with the styles of the gritty New York City street culture.Curated by Jowy Romano of Subway Art Blog, Noxer’s work has appeared in countless Graffiti books, magazines and Blogs as well as in Marc Ecko’sGetting Up” graffiti themed video game and the famed New York street graffiti documentary State Your Name. He recently released his first limited zine entitled No Love featuring a collection of line drawing illustrations and included collectables such as hand written stickers and photo print. The Book of the Dead is the artist’s first solo exhibition. The Opening reception will be on Friday, January 18th, 7-10pm and the show will display through Saturday, February 2nd at The Low Brow Artique located on 143 Central Ave, Brooklyn NY, 11221.
