Throwback Thursday Video: BASK in Detroit

By - Thursday, April 24th, 2014

BASK: One Night Stand in Detroit 2012 from El JEFE 313 on Vimeo.

Famed artist BASK will be having a new solo show opening in Denver Colorado at Black Book Gallery May 2nd from 6-11pm. The show entitled “The One You Feed” will run through May 31st, so be sure to check it out if you are in the Denver area.

The artist’s richly textural work imbue his “anti-iconic,” sometimes satirical worldview with an undercurrent of dark emotion. His canvases are the city’s flotsam and jetsam of industrial and consumer decay. Combining his graphic skill with his trademark multi-layered applications, Bask builds up the surface only to break down the image. “My art is a type of deconstruction,” says Bask, “I try to focus on the imperfection of things, rather then their unachievable perfection.” BASK’s work can also be seen in the recent Iron Man 3 set designs

Presented by Contra Projects & 1xRun this video is of the famed artist known as BASK, while having a gallery show only for one night he decided to contribute some street art in our fair city of Detroit.
