Tristan Eaton: Alexander Loft Building Mural

By - Tuesday, April 15th, 2014

The developers of the newly renovated Meridian Building building now known as The Alexander Lofts sought a mural depicting Alexander Graham Bell to tie into the Loft’s branding and marketability within the downtown area. The historic six-story office building was a telecommunications hub for companies like Southern Bell due to the fiber-optic lines and switches housed inside. The call for artists to submit work for the 83′ x 85.5′ (7,195 sq ft) wall concluded with Tristan Eaton being selected to complete the project. With his largest mural completed at Pow Wow Hawaii 2014, Eaton followed up with an even larger piece incorporating a collage work of imagery connecting the history of the building while fabricating the portrait of Bell from the pieces.
