UNKLE's Runaway (Pointman Re-Edit)

By - Monday, December 20th, 2010

UNKLE’s “Runaway” video was created by John Nolan, an animatronics designer and director at Streetlight Film UK. His talents have garnered him credits ranging from Where The Wild Things Are to Harry Potter. For this project, John Nolan created a Robot based on Futura’s eponymous Pointmen from UNKLE’s “Psyence Fiction” and “Never Never Land” albums. The Robot formed part of the Daydreaming with James Lavelle exhibition, which was accompanied by a sound track to the instrumental re-working of ‘The Runaway’ ( Lupe’s Revenge). The original appears on UNKLE’s most recent album ‘Where Did The Night Fall’ , with its vocals driven hip-hop counterpart featured on The Answer EP. The music lends a synchronized frame to the robots movement, with it’s aggressive marching stomp against the bass-lines, simultaneously prompting and moving against his forceful marching.
