Valve’s Rumored Console Could be Linux-Based

Last month, Ben Krasnow of Valve spoke at a conference about an upcoming Valve console. Apparently it will be based in Linux rather than Windows in the interest of delivering an open platform for developers. Rumors have been circling for some time now and this pretty much confirms a reveal hopefully at GDC or E3 (most likely).  Gabe Newell brought up talk about the success of Steam’s Big Picture Mode as well as bringing the PC into the living room (for gaming) that strongly hint that a Valve console is in the company’s future.
