Video: “Courier Culture” Documents Bike Courier Lifestyle in DC

This article was posted by Smarth 1 year, 1 week, 21 hours, 16 minutes ago.

A few students from the Corcoran School of Art and Design behind Fixed-Focus Productions, made this documentary about the bike messenger scene out in Washington DC. It follows several rookies to the job as well as a few veterans who discuss the pros and cons to being a courier. With technology advancing and the use of email becoming more and more practical in business, jobs like this are slowly dying out. At one point in DC there were hundreds maybe even a thousand bike couriers working at once, where as now there are only a couple hundred, if that. This is only a mini-cut of what will be short length documentary, so look out for that in the near future.
