Mind Map installation November 2012 from Wintec Spark on Vimeo.

This time lapse video of Kim Paton’s Mind Map piece planned for the Wintec Wall, Anglesea Street, Hamilton (New Zealand) is amazing. The Mind Map stretches to about 180m along the wall and is comprised of about 800 words, collected by Ms Paton in a variety of ways. Ms Paton said she gathered public opinion on the words through a website, and also read a lot of novels, old newspapers, history texts and poetry about the city. “For me as a person and as an artist I became really interested in the history of Hamilton,” she said. “Language is lovely…Language is so evocative,” Ms Paton explained. “We all own it and we all interpret it differently.” Video: Wintec Spark Article: Milk / Kill The Giant™ and The Waikato Times
