Video: The Movement Of Graffiti With MOSA.

By - Thursday, September 17th, 2015

The above video is of PAL crew member MOSA bombing on the streets of Paris. Whilst on the surface it shows us a pretty standard video of a writer with a dope style, what we discover if we look  little closer is the flowing, all body movement that graffiti encompasses in it’s action. In bombing, a single or set of actions is repeated en masse to complete a certain act – and as practice helps the consistency that helps the aesthetic of a piece/tag/throw up, it pays to develop these to such an extent that they become engrained in the body.

This is what we can see here, where the can is kept inline with a strict centre of gravity and the body moved around it. As you steadily learn, if you don’t move the body with the can then overspray and wobbles start to appear, but as soon as your body begins to flow in the outward expression of an inner thought directed using spray paint, then everything syncs up, and that’s when your style really comes into its own.

Maybe this is what being ‘in the zone’ means – where there is no barrier between thought, body and medium..and about halfway into the above video, MOSA demonstrates how beautiful the results can be.
